City tour (walking tour) and visit to the Synagogue of Florence. The itinerary starts from the column of abundance in Piazza della Repubblica, where the ancient Renaissance Jewish ghetto and the old market were located. Jewish ghetto that was demolished when Florence became the capital of the Kingdom of Italy. Walking through the streets of the city center, you reach the cathedral of S. Maria del Fiore and the Baptistery, where you can admire the east door, better known as the door of Paradise. You will walk along Via delle Oche, where the two Synagogues were reconstituted – Italian rite and Spanish rite schools before the construction of the current Synagogue. Afterwards, you continue with a guided tour of the museum that houses Michelangelo’s most famous work, David. You can admire the grandeur of David and other most famous works of the great sculptor. From here the tour will continue to the Synagogue of Florence which represents with its construction the symbol of the Emancipation of the Jews in Italy, built between 1874 and 1882. It is considered one of the most beautiful Synagogues in the world and it could not be otherwise given that it was built in a context of high artistic content such as the city of Florence. The tour ends with a guided visit of the Synagogue and the annexed Jewish museum. Duration of the tour approx. 4 hours – every day except Saturday and Monday

During the summer months, in the Synagogue and in all churches, it is mandatory to enter with clothing appropriate to the place: shoulders covered, skirts below the knee and long trousers. Inside the churches you can find support garments suitable for entry. (free in the Synagogue, paid in the Churches)
